Revenue Diversification Readiness Scorecard
A free 10-minute self-assessment from Small Business Consulting Suite. Most small businesses grow to a point where one client, one channel, or one product line is quietly carrying the whole operation. That works right up until it doesn't. This scorecard gives you a fast, honest read on how concentrated your income really is, and where the first safe new revenue stream is most likely hiding in what you already do.
The 6 diversification dimensions
Revenue concentration
What share of total revenue comes from your single largest client, channel, or product line
Channel dependency
How reliant you are on one marketing channel, platform, or referral source for new business
Seasonal exposure
How much monthly revenue swings with season, weather, or a single buying cycle
Adjacent-offer readiness
Whether you already have a proven product/service that a near-adjacent audience would buy
Recurring-revenue share
What share of revenue is one-time versus subscription, retainer, or repeat-purchase
Platform/vendor risk
How much of your income depends on rules set by a platform or vendor you don't control
How to score yourself
- For each dimension, rate your business Low / Moderate / High exposure based on the description.
- Count how many dimensions land in the High column.
- 0–1 High = healthy mix, worth a light quarterly review. 2–3 High = real concentration worth addressing before a client, channel, or season lets you down. 4+ High = your income is more concentrated than most businesses your size — a pivot conversation is overdue.
What's next
If two or more dimensions came back High, the Business Pivot Playbook ($37) walks through exactly how to find and validate your first new income stream, in plain language, with no big upfront investment required.
